A Teenager
Be guided by your teen's preferences when choosing them a new duvet. Do they like a lofty and dense duvet they can really wrap themselves up in or do they prefer something lighter? Wool filled duvets are a great choice for teenagers as they help regulate body temperature to stay warm in chilly temperatures and prevent overheating if things get too hot. So they're perfect for teens who like a weekend lie-in when the rest of the house is up and the heating is on full. Wool is also washable making it a practical choice for teenagers. Many parents opt for synthetic fill duvets as they're so easy to care for. Take a look at our microfibre and silk fill duvet - it has all the practicalities of microfibre, with some of the moisture-wicking properties of silk for a more comfortable night's sleep.
An Elderly Person
The elderly can struggle to regulate their body temperature, so a wool-fill duvet would be an excellent choice in helping them stay warm in colder weather without the discomfort of overheating.
If mobility and strength is an issue, then a lighter, down-rich duvet may be a better choice, as it will be easy to move around and pick up. Down-rich duvets are very insulative and breathable, so will keep an elderly person warm. If temperature fluctuations are a problem, remember that it's better to use a lighter duvet with additional blankets, or even a spare duvet, than it is to use one very warm duvet on its own.
