Before cleaning your duvet, always check the care label on the product for clarity on washing temperatures and the suitability of use of bleach, tumble drying and dry cleaning. Given the size of some duvets, we recommend using a professional laundering service at your local dry cleaner. Their large capacity washing machines and dryers are best suited to the size of this product.
If you do choose to wash your duvet at home it is essential that you do not overload your washing machine. We recommend using our specially formulated duvet wash rather than standard laundry detergents as these can damage natural fillings; These include all our feather, down, wool, cotton and silk duvets.
The drying stage will require patience to ensure that the filling is totally dry. Make sure your duvet is 100% dry before you put it back on your bed. Failing to fully dry your duvet can result in the fill clumping together which compromises the effectiveness of your duvet.
A good tip is to weigh your duvet pre-wash and post-drying, if it weighs the same it should be reliably dry. To keep your duvet in tip top condition, we recommend washing it every 6-12 months. A good habit is to wash your duvet when switching it for a new season. Always store freshly cleaned duvets in a breathable storage bag.
